The upcoming season of Netflix’s The Crown is set to jump ahead in time.

So, understandably, they have had to recast all of the main characters.

Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies were recently confirmed to be taking over the roles of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip from Claire Foy and Matt Smith.

And Helena Bonham Carter will be stepping into the role of Princess Margaret, which was previously played by Vanessa Kirby.

And now there’s two more key roles that have been announced by the royal drama’s Twitter account.

It was announced on Thursday that Josh O’Connor will play Prince Charles in The Crown season 3 and 4.

He said:

“I am thrilled to be joining The Firm for the next instalment of The Crown. Seasons three and four will follow some of the most turbulent events in the Prince of Wales’ life and our national story and I’m excited to be bringing to life the man in the midst of it all.

“I’m very aware it’s a formidably talented family to be joining but reliably informed I have the ears for then part and will fit right in.”

It was also announced that Marion bailey will be playing the Queen Mother when the drama returns.

Following the news, she said:

“Wonderful to be joining The Crown.

“It’s a brilliant show and we have a tough act to follow but what a gift to be playing the fascinating and greatly loved Queen Mother.

“I’m thrilled to be on board and working with a top notch team.”
