The PMS Package is REAL (and you will never believe who invented it!)

Trine Jensen-Burke

Always feel YUCK when you get your period and could do with some serious cheering up (and possibly lots of chocolate too?!)

Yup, us too. Which is why we are totally considering a move stateside right about now, where you can sign up to the (genius!) newly launched PMS Package scheme, and receive a package in the post just as that time of the month approaches once more.

In short, the PMS Package is a subscription box service for women who get their periods and turn to candy, stuffed animals, and nail polish for comfort. Which, in let’s face it, we all do.

The service has, understandably, captivated teen and twenty-something women, with thousands of mentions on Instagram and Twitter. Recently, one US lifestyle site fawned over the product, claiming: “Once you receive your parcel, you’ll open it to discover an assortment of goodies that will make you look at the sky and whisper, ‘Thank you, PMS Package. Thank you.'”

Well, sign us up!

The brains behind this clever idea are two 19-year-old guys(!), who claim to have come up with the idea to “make women’s least favorite time of the month just a little bit better.”

Ashton Onesko and Luke Buchy, both from Ohio, brands themselves as the “period whisperers” and created the PMS Package on suggestion from Buchy’s younger sister. The two young entrepreneurs grew the company rapidly through Buchy’s social media savvy, and claims that in a perfect world, “the U.S. Postal Service would sync up perfectly with women’s periods, so the PMS Package would get there right on time, every time.”

As for content, co-founder Ashton Onesko recently spilled the beans to People magazine: “Our packages change every month,” he explains. “We supply our boxes with goodies from the theme of the month or holiday. We have chocolate, lotions, candles, stuffed animals, fuzzy socks, candies and much more.”

Subscribers can choose different size packages, ranging from the “mini” at $12.99 a month, to the “executive” at $34.99 a month. Because the packages are created for women, Onesko consults regularly with a team of females to make sure customers will be getting the type of products they want.

“We have a team of girls who bounce ideas back and forth to decide the most comforting items to put into the packages,” he says. “We also get feedback from our customers by running Twitter polls to see what they would want in the packages. We like to stick with the most comforting items, along with snacks to enjoy.”

So far, customer feedback has been “unreal,” says Onesko.

“The whole time we have been in business we have had nothing but positive feedback,” he says. “What girls love most about our packages is that we ship it to them when they start their period. Our whole goal of this company is based off our slogan: ‘Comfort delivered right to your door when you need it most.’ ”

What. A. Guy.
