A source told Express.co.uk that the Queen just "couldn't get her head around" the idea of spending so much time in the kitchen.
The royal insider said:
"When the Queen visited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall for the first time, she couldn’t get her head around the fact the kitchen is the main base for them. "For the Queen, she can't stand that because she is used to having a set room for that sort of thing".The source also said that when the Queen visits Balmoral, her Scottish estate, she never goes into the kitchen.
In stark contrast then, the kitchen at Anmer Hall is the "main hub" of Kate and Will's home.
It leads into the dining room and the couple can often be found there, hanging out with their children.
