The Royal Christening: 7 amazing snaps that made history

When Princess Charlotte is baptised on Sunday, July 5, she will carry on a royal tradition that stretches back generations.

Charlotte’s ceremony will take place at St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, the same church where her late grandmother Princess Diana was christened on August 30, 1961.

To mark the occasion, we’ve collected our top seven royal christening snaps of all time…

1. The Duchess of York, (the late Queen mother) holds Princess Elizabeth (now The Queen) at her baptism in 1926.
