“A gesture would undoubtedly please William and Harry.”

Weddings can feel a little poignant when a member of the family has passed away, which is why lots of couples choose to pay tribute to relatives they’ve lost on their big day.

A royal expert has said the we can expect a nod to Princess Diana in Princess Eugenie’s wedding this Friday.

Diana was close friends with the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, who was married to Prince Charles’ brother Prince Andrew.

The two women bonded after marrying into the royal family at a young age.

It’s thought that Eugenie could include a favourite hymn of Diana’s in the ceremony in memory of her aunt and mother’s friend.

“Sarah may well pay a tribute to Diana,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.

“They were famously friendly though they subsequently fell out.

“A gesture would undoubtedly please William and Harry.

“She might choose a hymn which Diana was fond of such as ‘I Vow To Thee My Country’ which was sung at Diana’s wedding and funeral.”

This Friday is thought to be an opportunity for Sarah to enamour herself to the royals once again.

She was blamed for bringing ridicule on the family when she was photographed having her toes sucked by a boyfriend shortly after she and Prince Andrew announced their separation in 1992.

“Sarah Ferguson has made a seismic effort to regain some of the royal favour she so catastrophically lost,” Fitzwilliams continued.

“This wedding is her chance to excel.”
