The Weather Outside? It's Frightful.

People all over Ireland are opening their curtains to a blanket of white snow this morning, with commuters battling icy conditions on the roads. A snow-ice warning has been in place since midnight, with the AA warning motorists to keep an eye out for pedestrians after the March snowfall.

According to Met Eireann, snow in east Ulster and Leinster this morning will turn to rain later but there will be accumulations in the morning on hills and mountains, and short lived accumulations at lower levels too.

Elsewhere it will be mostly cloudy but mainly dry and this afternoon will be mostly dry everywhere with just isolated showers. Temperatures this afternoon will be between six and eight degrees, dropping to between two and zero tonight, which will be mostly dry with isolated wintry showers. It's not quite the same without the Christmas trees and carols, is it?
