There’s even more “unsettled” weather on the way…

The weekend was pretty horrific in terms of the weather, what with Storm Desmond wreaking havoc across Ireland and the UK.

Thankfully it will be a bit more settled this week (note: we said a “bit”).

According to Met Éireann, today will be windy and cloudy with some rain showers. This afternoon will bring heavier downpours and strong winds but it will be mild with temperatures around 12 to 14 degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow is much of the same but will be colder. Going forward, conditions will be changeable and unsettled.

Wednesday will bring strong gusts, up to gale force in many parts, with a mixture of dry spells and heavy showers. It will turn cold on Wednesday night with temperatures dropping below 4 degrees Celsius.

The cooler conditions will remain on Thursday as will the heavy downpours, some of which will fall as hail and sleet. There will also be a risk of frost as temperatures drop further.

Early indications for the weekend suggest that it will be cold with sunny spells and scattered showers. Ah well, at least we can snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket on those days!
