"I’m a horrible interviewer. I’m impatient. To have a great hire, you need to spend a lot of time with that person and you need to see them in different settings. I rely on other people. Interviewing takes a village.Sneaky or what? That said, I always root for the person without pedigree, someone who’s bootstrapped themselves. It’s not a negative if they have it, but you can quickly learn someone’s view of the world and how they got to where they are.
Here’s something I do: If you’re in the process of interviewing with us, I’ll text you about something at 9 p.m. or 11 a.m. on a Sunday just to see how fast you’ll respond."
