These young women are literally breaking down gender-based barriers

Do we limit girls and tell them what they should or shouldn’t be? Do we box them into expected roles?

They’re the questions being asked by sanitary care company Always, which found that 72 per cent of girls feel society DOES limit them, especially during puberty when a young woman’s confidence plummets.

In a new video for its #LikeAGirl campaign, the brand tackles the issue head on, highlighting how females feel limited by society’s expectations, and in a bid to dispel misconceptions such as ‘girls can’t be brave or strong’.

The clip, which is a follow-up to the Always #LikeAGirl Super Bowl ad, starts with participants talking about a time they have been told they shouldn’t do something, just because they’re a girl. They are then asked to write things they feel society tells them they should or shouldn’t do on cardboard boxes, before stacking them up and knocking them down.

Watch the young girls smash down the limitations in the cool video titled #LikeAGirl Unstoppable, below.
