Zig and Zag are about to make a triumphant return to television next year.
The cheeky twosome made their television début on RTÉ‘s Dempsey’s Den in 1987, making them as much a part of childhood for most of us as denim jackets and scrunchies.
In the next installment however, Zigmund Ambrose Zogly and Zagnatius Hillary Zogly will feature in their very own cartoon, 26 episodes of which are due to air on RTÉjr in 2016.
The project RTÉjr and CBBC collaboration will be produced in partnership with Zi and Zag creators Double Z Enterprises, Flickerpix and Jam Media.
TV producer and broadcaster Maia Dunphy was one of the first to welcome the furry duo back to our screens, posting this vintage photo, taken when she worked with the famous puppets on RTE.
