Three new weather warnings issued by Met Éireann as Storm Diana approaches Ireland

Met Éireann have issued three new weather warnings – one yellow and two orange – as Storm Diana nears Ireland.

These are in addition to the two status yellow cautions from earlier today, which are still in effect.

There is a status yellow wind warning for all of Ireland, which is due to come into effect at 5am on Wednesday, November 28 at 5am and end at 4pm that afternoon.

A Met Éireann forecaster warned there would be “gale force winds associated with Storm Diana on Wednesday.”

The winds will reach average speeds of 55 to 65 km/h, gusting to 90 to 110 km/h.

Meanwhile, there are two orange wind warnings which both kick off in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

The one for Cork, Kerry and Waterford begins at 6am on Wednesday and ends at noon the same day.

The other one, for Wexford, Galway and Clare, begins at 9am that day and ends at 2pm.

Both warnings are also in relation to the “severe winds associated with Storm Diana on Wednesday”.

A forecaster said that there will be south to southwest winds of 65 to 80 km/h will gust 110 to 130 km/h. There will also be high seas, with a risk of coastal flooding.
