What times are supermarkets opening for the Bank Holiday weekend?

Orlaith Condon

Here we go again.

With a fresh status orange weather warning having just been issued and most of the country waking up to snow this morning, everyone is having a serious case of Déjà vu.

Yes, it feels like we’re only just recovered from the last visit from the Beast from the East and it’s time for round two.

And while there might not be as much widespread disruption as the last time, with St Patrick’s Day and a Bank Holiday thrown into the mix, it can all get a little confusing when it comes to business opening hours.

Well, to ensure you don’t go without this long weekend, here’s a list of the supermarkets opening hours for the rest of the weekend.

Tesco

Tesco says that their opening hours will vary for some stores over the weekend.

Many of their stores will remain open until as late at 10pm and 11pm but they are urging customers to check the website for individual opening hours for the long weekend.

Dunnes Stores

Again, Dunnes Stores have confirmed that store opening hours will vary store-to-store over the weekend with many operating shorter hours tomorrow.

Today’s hours are expected to remain unchanged, however, they are advising customers to check their website to find their closest store’s opening hours.

SuperValu

As SuperValu stores are all individually owned, customers will need to check with the specific store for opening hours.

They advise that many stores have individual Facebook pages where opening times would be posted, if not, customers are told to contact the stores directly with queries.

Aldi

Aldi has confirmed that it will open from 9am till 9pm all weekend, however, exceptions will be made for certain stores due to planning regulations.

Lidl

Lidl will retain its normal opening hours for today, opening from 9am till 9pm. However, tomorrow it will operate on Sunday opening hours so similarly opening from 9am till 9pm.
