Awful.

A toddler in America has been hospitalised after being struck by a baseball. The young girl was in the crowd of a Yankees game yesterday when one of the baseball players hit a foul ball, which was travelling at 106 mph, into the stadium.

Unfortunately, it struck the girl in the head. According to Yahoo Sport, medical aid was on site to deal with the situation but the girl’s injuries were so great that she needed to be brought to the hospital.

Later, the manager for the team confirmed that she was ‘doing OK’.

A video was captured of the incident, without showing any graphic detail, but the look on the player’s faces says it all.

Many of the players and fans have urged the clubs to install more nets around the full baseball pitch to prevent these sort of accidents from occurring.

One player, Eduardo Escobar has stressed the urgency of this change saying, “A ball like that can kill a kid. … It could’ve killed her.”
