It Took 300 Hours To Make But No One Will Ever Wear This Wedding Gown

Amanda Cassidy

I though once the world started tie-dying wedding dresses that it was all over.

I felt SURELY ‘unique’ wedding dresses had had their day. Obviously, I am but a fleck on the bottom of the shoe that is the interweb, and it never ever ceases to shock.  I’m not saying I don’t LOVE cake or weddings. But together? Really?

Well, as it turns out, edible wedding dresses are now a real thing.

Baker, Yvette Marner, from Fun N Funky Cakes also decided it was a great idea. She fashioned the world’s first edible wedding dress wth help from award-winning cake sculptor Sylvia Elba. It weighs over 70kg, that’s 11 stone, and she thinks it is dreamy.

According to the Huffington Post, the weddible (yes, that is what it’s being called) bridal gown took a team of three over 300 hours to finish, and it is 100 per cent edible. The decorations were glued onto the gown with around ten bottles of cake glue. It was made as a special design to showcase ‘cake couture’ for an International Cake exhibition in London.
