Tragic Oisín O’Driscoll Will Be Laid To Rest In Bray

Alison Bough

Seven-year-old Oisín O’Driscoll, who tragically died in a suspected murder-suicide, will be laid to rest in his dad’s hometown of Bray on Friday.

Oisín was found alongside his 37-year-old mother Sinéad Higgins, originally from Westport, in their West London home last week. Ms. Higgins was a registered nurse and working as a medico-legal advisor at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The pair’s bodies were found after Oisín’s dad, Shane O’Driscoll, raised the alarm after getting no response when he called to his ex-partner’s house to bring his son to school.

Oisín’s heartbroken family will gather this Friday in Bray’s Holy Redeemer Church to say their final farewell to the little boy described as having an “infectious smile and warm heart.”

His funeral notice, which was published today, requested that donations be made to Oisín’s school in Ruislip in lieu of flowers:

“Oisín O’Driscoll, Bray, Co. Wicklow, formerly of Ruislip, United Kingdom. Tragically taken at the tender age of 7 years. Sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of experiencing his infectious smile and his warm heart, especially his loving dad Shane, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass at 10am on Friday, 23rd December, in the Holy Redeemer Church, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow. Funeral thereafter to Kilternan Cemetery Park. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, please, to the Friends of St Swithun Wells, Ruislip, United Kingdom.”
