One mum has admitted she doesn’t host birthday parties for her daughter every year

Hosting a birthday party for your little one is often a stressful experience, but it’s always worthwhile.

We will always do something to mark our child’s birthday, whether it’s a big celebration at home or a day out with their closest friends.

However, one mum has started a tense debate online after admitting she won’t have birthday parties for her daughter every year.

She explained on TikTok that she’ll mark her first birthday, as well as her 16th, but not every year.

She shared: “Under no circumstances will I be throwing my daughter a birthday party every single year.”

“Here’s the deal: She is getting a first birthday party, she is getting a Sweet 16 and she is getting a graduation party following her March birthday. Other than that, she is not getting any more birthday parties,” she continued.

The mum admitted she doesn’t find children’s parties “enjoyable” which encouraged her decision.

She said she isn’t trying to put down other parents’ decisions but she just wants to be honest about her parenting decision.

She said she won’t ignore her daughter’s birthday but will mark it differently.

“Now look, if you are someone who genuinely enjoys throwing your child a birthday party, pop off, Queen. Do what you want to do. I’m not telling anyone else how to live their lives. I just personally don’t find it necessary, and I’m not going to be doing it,” she said.

The mum explained that organising a party is “a lot of stress on my part”.

She also said she “doesn’t want a bunch of people sitting around at my house all day”.

Do you think she’s being reasonable?
