Babies, toys, tech, home & more: the Irish parent’s guide to Black Friday deals

Laura Grainger

Bring on the bargains.

Ever since Black Friday has made its way to this side of the Atlantic, we’ve been inundated with ads for offers of just about anything and everything.

And as much as we love a bargain, sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming to sort through what’s actually relevant to us and our Christmas shopping list.

That’s why we’ve assembled the ultimate Irish parent’s guide to Black Friday 2021.

Below, you’ll find all the best deals to keep your eye out for this Black Friday, November 26 – whether you’re shopping for babies, kids, toys, tech, or home.

Happy shopping, mams and dads.

Babies, kids and toys

Smyths Toys has a wide range of Black Friday discounts on selected products in-store and online while stocks last. The selection includes the likes of certain LEGO sets, bikes and scooters, dolls and play sets, action figures, baby play matts, cribs, video games and consoles, junior smart devices, arts and crafts and so on. Customer limits apply to avoid bulk buying.

Littlewoods‘ Black Friday sale offers up to 50% off selected products across all their usual departments, but parents will want to check out their toy, gaming and children and baby clothing or furniture deals in particular. Whether you’re picking up the essentials for a winter baby, looking to tick stuff off the Santa wishlist, or hoping to deck the kids out in new outfits for Christmas day despite the fact that they’ll probably spend it on the floor surrounded by toys, you’re sure to find a bargain that suits.

Mamas and Papas is hosting a Black Friday event with up to 50% off a wide range of products for babies of all stages – whether you’re just starting out and need to grab all the essentials like prams, cots, feeding and changing gear, or your baba has moved on to needing the likes of highchairs, booster seats and so on.

The Disney Store, or shopDisney, is offering up to 30% off selected products for Black Friday. So if you’ve got a Disney fan at home, you know what to do.

Argos has Black Friday discounts that include up to 20% off selected toys and up to 25% off selected baby products (as well as deals on the likes of tech and homeware).

While we might usually head to Boots to shop gifts in beauty, bath or perfume sets, they actually have a wide range of deals on all sorts of baby products – from nursery bags and tiny clothes to medical supplies.

Books

If you’ve got a bookworm in the family, take note: Eason is offering 50% off selected titles as part of their Black Friday sale with no promo code needed. Almost everything else is 25% off with the promo code BLACK (excluding the selected 50% off Black Friday titles, Half Price Books, LEGO, and Toniebox Starter Sets).

The Book Depository has also been offering daily offers this Black Friday week, and their Christmas gift guides have discounts on titles for children of all ages.

Tech and home

Harvey Norman‘s massive Black Friday sale includes deals on pretty much everything – like up to 30% off TVs and headphones, as well as other huge discounts on laptops, smartwatches, tablets, furniture and appliances.

Currys has some major savings across all things tech as part of their “Black Tag Sale” – be it gaming, gadgets, audio, appliances, or state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners.

As is fairly typical of Apple, they’re not doing a flash sale with mad discounts for everyone to nab the latest iPhone or iPad for less in honour of Black Friday. But they are hosting a four-day “Apple Shopping Event” that kicks off on the same day, during which selected products will come with an “Apple Store Gift Card for a later purchase”, according to their Irish site.
