There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after last night’s episode of DIY SOS.
We were in floods of tears as David and Laura Costello and their beautiful family got their home renovated.
Last night’s episode featured a harrowing story about a mum who suffered complications in childbirth.
Laura, a mum of five, was in an induced coma for two weeks after giving birth to her son Daniel.
The mum suffered a significant brain injury during her son’s birth and even had to learn how to talk again.
She is also partially paralysed and requires a wheelchair.
Laura was separated from her beloved family as she continued her recovery at the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
Laura and David’s home was completely transformed ahead of her return home after a long 18 months away from her family.

The family’s Santry home was completed in just 9 days thanks to the DIY SOS team and volunteers.
Viewers were left in floods of tears as Laura and David looked around their new home. The couple said you could even feel the love as you walked through the doors.
The team even installed a lift for Laura so she could go upstairs to her children.
The mum said all she wanted is to read her children a bedtime story.
What an incredible family. We loved being a part of this. Well done to everyone #DIYsosirl @RTEOne pic.twitter.com/DgkDi5gyEK

Viewers praised the family’s strength, as well as their hopeful outlook.
One wrote, “Well fair to say we are all crying and in awe of Laura and David on tonight’s DIY SOS.”
Another said, “The best thing about #DIYsosirl is how genuine it is. A year or two later, Baz still rings the homeowner for chats and calls for visits regularly.”
“What a man, what a husband, what an absolutely incredible father David is. I don’t have any more tears left.”
