Simpler times: Who remembers these iconic 80s Irish Halloween staples?

Nothing beats the nostalgia conjured up by an old-school Halloween costume. Halloween in the 80s and 90s; when a non-scary costume would have been a bizarre choice. When there wasn't a (real) pumpkin in sight, never mind a caffeinated drink flavoured with one. When all costumes were created, never ever bought. When trick or treating meant coming home with a bag full of fruit and nuts, except that one house who'd always give you money. Back then, we thought they were so generous. As adults we realise, they just forgot to buy fruit. Speaking of Trick or Treating... Never heard of it. "Help the Halloween party!", all the way. Honestly, the notions of yiz. Choose your player...   When one of these three specific items + a black plastic bag = your entire Halloween costume. Probably with the addition of some face paint from the pound shop. Sure what else did you need?   Said face paint looked like this and didn't involve an hour and a half spent agonising over a YouTube tutorial. There was nothing you couldn't achieve with three colours. When we thought it was perfectly ok to give children things like this... Last but certainly not least, the holy grail, without which an 80s or 90s Halloween would simply not have been impossible...
