Tommy Fury has opened up about his split from Molly-Mae
Boxer Tommy Fury has confirmed the real reason why he broke up with Molly-Mae.
The couple announced their separation last August, which came as a major shock to their fans.
The couple had been together since they met on the 2019 series of Love Island and welcomed daughter Bambi in 2023.
Many believed Fury cheated on Molly-Mae after their abrupt break-up but he has since confirmed that they ended their relationship because he had an alcohol addiction.
In a new interview with Men’s Health, Tommy confirmed he was suffering from alcohol addiction as well as mental health issues.
He told the publication, “There’s been so much shit in the papers every single day for the past six months: “Cheater, cheater, cheater; he slept with me; he slept with this girl”. Complete and utter bollocks. And you can ask Molly herself.”
He added, “‘The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore.”
The dad admitted he was struggling so much with his mental health at the time and needed to end their relationship.
He continued, “It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our crosses to bear. I’ve got mine to bear.”
Tommy and Molly-Mae have been co-parenting their daughter Bambi since they broke up last August.
