“She was a wonderful mother, a fantastic mother.”

The passing of mum-of-two Natasha Core has completely broken the hearts of her loved ones, locals in Loch Gowna, and people across the country.

Tributes have been pouring in since a tragic lake incident claimed the life of the young mum.

It is understood that the 29-year-old was trying to help save her son when he got into difficulty in Lough Gowna, Co. Cavan on Wednesday night.

The mum entered the water to help her nine-year-old boy after she noticed he was struggling and out of his depth in the water.

According to reports, her son managed to get out of Swan Lake but the mum disappeared under the water.

Emergency services helped locate the mum’s body on Wednesday night. Gardaí confirmed the mum’s body was found near the shoreline.

Locals in her hometown have remembered her fondly and said she “lived for her children”.

One local woman told The Mirror, “It is just horrible. She was a wonderful mother, a fantastic mother.”

“She would go down to the park with her kids, she would be coming here to the lake having picnics, doing fishing with them – she was just a fantastic mother, she was awesome.”

The mum’s death is being treated as a tragedy. Her body was taken to the mortuary at Navan Hospital where a postmortem will be carried out.

Natasha’s partner paid tribute to her in a harrowing post on social media. He said he will always love her, “Words can’t describe how much I love and miss you already. My heart is broke; me and the boys love you to bits.”

“I hope you get the best bed in heaven because you deserve it,” the grief-stricken father wrote.
