Twelve counties are included in the latest weather warnings from Met Éireann.

The first status yellow warning has just been issued from the national forecaster and this one relates to eight counties.

Strong winds are predicted for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork and Kerry with the warning coming into effect at 4 pm this evening.

The warning remains in place for the eight counties mentioned until 1 am tomorrow morning so if you have anything planned this evening, take note.

Here’s what to expect:

“A further spell of strong winds will occur later today and tonight. Westerly winds with mean winds of 55 to 65 km/h and gusts of 100km/h are possible, especially in coastal areas. High seas will bring a risk of coastal flooding”.

The second weather warning impacts Dublin, Louth, Wicklow and Meath and it is in place from 7 pm this evening until 3 am tomorrow morning.

Met Éireann predicts:

“Strong winds for a time tonight and overnight. Westerly winds may reach mean speeds of 50 to 60km/h and gusts up to 90km/h at times”.
