Shocking.

Two children were shot by a fellow daycare child after they got their hands on a loaded gun.

The two children, who are three years old, received serious injuries. One of them was shot in the shoulder and is said to be in a stable condition, but another was shot in the head and is said to be in a critical condition.

The child who shot them is believed to be two or three years of age and found the gun in one of the bedrooms.

They were all at their daycare in Detroit, Michigan when the incident occurred. There were multiple weapons in the daycare within reach of the children.

According to Detroit media, the daycare wasn’t licensed as a family care home, but the owner regularly minded children belonging to friends and family.

An investigation has been launched by the police to establish who owned the gun and how it got into the hands of a toddler.

A recent study has highlighted the need for change in the States when it comes to gun control. A shocking amount of children get injured and die as a result of guns every year.

It found that from 2012 to 2014, 5,790 children in the States received injuries sustained by guns. Furthermore, during the same period, 1,297 children died as a result of gun-related injuries.
