A little girl has died in Wales after the car she was a passenger in rolled into a river.
Two-year-old Kiara Moore passed away on Monday evening.
She had been sitting in a car which was parked on a slipway in Cardigan, a town in the south-west of the country .
The Telegraph reports that she was reported missing after 3pm on Monday when her mother returned and the car was nowhere to be found.
After a two-hour search by police, firefighters and the coastguard, the car was found in the River Teifi.
The little girl’s parents initially thought that the car had been stolen but police confirmed that they are not looking for anyone in relation to the incident.
Her mother had parked the car on the slipway and nipped into the family’s outdoor pursuits business to get money, according to the BBC.
Kiara was airlifted to hospital in Cardiff after she was found in the car but was later pronounced dead.
She was due to celebrate her third birthday next week.
In a Facebook post, her father said the toddler had had “an amazing but short life.”
“She was an incredible, happy young girl who lived I hope a great adventurous fun life,” wrote Jet Moore.
“And may have done more than most people.”
