Two young children rushed to hospital after Cork accident

Alison Bough

Two children were involved in a serious road accident in Cork shortly before 11pm last night.

A seven-month-old and a 9-year-old were involved in a serious single vehicle collision on the M8.

Both children were rushed to hospital as a result of the crash, which took place between the Watergrasshill and Glanmire junctions.

Gardai put diversions in place while emergency services attended the scene, however the road reopened this morning.

The condition of the two children and the male occupant of the vehicle is not known at this point.
