If you spent your childhood dreaming of roaming a meadow atop a majestic unicorn (just me?), that very dream could have come true had you been born 29,000 years ago. Almost.
Scientists have long confirmed the existence of a unicorn-type creature in the part of the world now known as Kazakhstan.
The latest update however, according to researchers at Russia’s Tomsk State University, is that the fossils of the huge horned mammal Elasmotherium Sibiricum may not be as old as they once believed.
In fact, these creatures may have been roaming around at the same time as humans.
Sadly, the picture the science boffins paint of our beloved unicorn is closer to a rhinoceros than we’d like…
…but the main thing is that E. Sibiricum existed.
And we can remember him however we please.
