Urgent recall issued for popular Stanley product due to burn risk

Sophie Collins

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued an urgent recall for Stanley’s Trigger Action Travel Mugs due to safety concerns.

The recall affects over 200 units in the Republic of Ireland and has been initiated by Stanley 1913.

The recall was prompted by the risk of burns associated with the product.

According to the CCPC, the lid threads on the affected travel mugs can shrink when exposed to heat and torque.

This defect may cause the lid to detach during use, potentially leading to burns.

The recall applies to specific models of Stanley’s Trigger Action Travel Mugs. The impacted model numbers are:

  • 20-02824
  • 20-02033
  • 20-02825
  • 20-02030

Approximately 228 units of these models are reported to be in circulation in the Republic of Ireland.

Consumers who own one of the affected travel mugs are advised to stop using the product immediately.

Stanley 1913 is offering replacement lids to resolve the issue. Customers can request a replacement lid through the company’s official website.

For more information and to check if your product is affected, visit the CCPC’s website or contact Stanley 1913 directly.
