Carla and her half-brother Aidan underwent a kidney transplant, but the strenuous operation did not have any impact on the actress' makeup.
Attentive Coronation Street viewers were quick to identify a continuity error in last night's episode.
Carla Connor received a kidney donation from her half-brother Aidan, giving her character at least another six month's worth of storyline before the next life-threatening drama.
Presumably wanting to impress the surgeons, Carla entered the operating theatre with a full face of makeup and, after undergoing surgery, came out looking the same if not more fresh-faced.

I've never undergone significant surgery but think it's safe to assume the removal and insertion of a major organ might have some kind of impact on one's appearance. Maybe a little smudged mascara or a tasteful smearing of lipstick.

The Corrie diehards were quick to voice their disapproval on Twitter.

A little harsh, it's totally plausible Carla's gurney passed the hospital brow bar between the OR and inpatient ward.
