This is amazing!

This viral post appeared in my home-feed recently and I was amazed at just how many fantastic uses for breast milk there really is.

The photo shared by Chelsea Leigh Ward contains a list of all the medical uses for breast milk, and there’s far more than I had expected.

Shared by DoulaCare Ireland, the original post read;

“Did you know that 1 drop of breastmilk has 1 million white blood cells?

You can use breastmilk topically to treat the following:
Ear infections
Some eye infections
Bug bites
Cuts
Diaper rash
Acne
Eczema
Burns
Congestion

The list goes on and on, it’s literally liquid gold! Here’s my little life hack for when you need just a little bit of milk and don’t want to thaw out an entire bag!”

Wow!

I breastfed my daughter and remember being advised by the health nurse to use a little bit of my milk on the patches of dry skin the baby had on her feet. I did and was amazed at how quickly her skin went back to normal.

I had also read about it being good for burns but apart from using it for skin ailments, I had no idea you could use it for so many other conditions.

I have to say, I’m really surprised I wasn’t told more about the various uses of breast milk during my antenatal classes and I think more parents should be informed that its use goes beyond food, even though that’s the most important one.

Chelsea’s post received well over 65 thousand shares, spreading the word to many more parents around the world.

Now I’m just wondering if it’ll become mainstream and if we’ll start seeing things like breast milk sheet masks?

Did you know all the ways you can use breastmilk and if so did you ever use it to treat any medical condition?
