This is going to be the next big true crime must watch.
It has recently been revealed that Matrix star Keanu Reeves will be starring in a new true crime series centered around America’s first serial killer.
The new big budget TV series, The Devil in the White City, will tell the story of H.H.Holmes, infamously known for building what was called The Murder Castle.
The episodic series is being produced for Hulu and is based on Erik Larson’s 2003 book that details the life an crimes of one of America’s most notorious serial killers.
Holmes murdered most of his victims in the late 1890s by luring them into his hotel that was built with various booby traps.
The Devil in the White City will tell the true story of two men, an architect and a serial killer who become part of one of the darkest parts of American history;
It follows Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant and fastidious architect racing to make his mark on the world and Henry H. Holmes, a handsome and cunning doctor who fashioned his own pharmaceutical.
As it is still early days we don’t yet know if Reeves will be taking on the role of H.H.Holmes himself but we’ll definitely be keeping an ear to the ground for more details, especially the release date.
Given that Holmes and his crimes sound like stories plucked right out of a fictional horror story, we can imagine that Devil in the White City is going to be the true crime series to watch this year!
