The long-awaited final season of Downton Abbey is finally finished… and it’s a tear jerker.
ITV have released a tantalizing trailer of the last ever episodes, season six bringing the much-adored series to an end. As if it wasn’t heartbreaking enough that one of our favourite programmes EVER is almost over, the trailer is set to the haunting Time to Say Goodbye.
As we prepare to bid farewell to Lady Mary, the Dowager, Isobel, Mrs Hughes and Carson, the actor who plays Mr Carson has given us a small clue as to how it all goes down:
He said: “I am not going to give a spoiler but these characters, we say goodbye to them, but it is not final. We see them setting off on different paths.”
Season six starts on September 20 at 9pm, with the Bafta Award-winning show to bow out in December.
For now however, feast your eyes on what’s in store for die-hard Downtonites…
