It’s a day for rain gear and welly boots. And, according to Met Eireann, conditions are not about to improve any time soon.
The forecaster has issued a Status Yellow weather warning across the country, and a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry.
The wind warning remains in place until 6pm on Sunday evening with the forecaster predicting: “westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 45 km to 55km/h and gusts of 80 to 100km/h during Saturday/Sunday”.
Meanwhile, the rainfall warning is in place until 3pm on Sunday, with “accumulations of 25-50mm likely over the weekend”.
