Sake.

A status yellow weather warning has been issued for the entire country ahead of Storm Ernesto’s arrival this weekend.

Met Eireann issued the nationwide warning today, stating that “high-intensity” rainfall is to be expected due to the tropical storm.

Rainfall of up to 20mm is expected in some areas.

The warning comes into effect on Saturday, August 18 at 8pm and remains in place until 8am on Sunday, August 19.

Met Eireann’s website states:

“High intensity rainfall over a relatively short period of time for many areas on Saturday night associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto.

“Totals up to 20mm could occur quite widely with higher falls locally. The situation will continue to be monitored.”

Fab.

Still though, temperatures are still expected to remain high enough despite the grim weather situation with highs of mid-20s being forecasted on Saturday, though they could climb to as high as 25 degrees in parts of the south and south-east.

Understandably thanks to the storm, we can also expect heavy downpours and lots of humidity.

The storm should pass by Sunday.
