Weekend weather looking like a real mixed bag

A warm, wet weekend is ahead of us.

Now that we've had time to get to grips with Phase Two, the chances are the more and more people are making plans to meet friends and explore their county.

Annoyingly, there's been a noticeable and predictable downturn in the weather since the restrictions were eased.

Still, it's not all bad news on the weather from this weekend. Met Éireann is forecasting that Friday will have "good dry spells," but that showers are in store, and we can expect a "a further pulse of rain moving in across the southeast of the country early on Friday night."

Saturday will be similar, as another showery day is to hit us, with even longer showers in some area. But there could still be some decent outside time, as it will "feel warm in any sunny spells with highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees as winds fall mostly light."

It gets even more muddled again on Sunday, when the weather is expected to be properly hot and humid with highs of up to 23 degrees. The only downside is that it's set to rain even more: "There is a risk of heavy and prolonged downpours in places with a few thunderstorms breaking out."

So what we seem to be looking at is t-shirt umbrella weather, but the weather shouldn't be one that could possibly conduct lightning.

Sounds good.
