Weekend weather set to be FREEZING, says Met Éireann

Trine Jensen-Burke

It’s Friday and for those wondering what the weekend weather will be like, the forecast is in and it’s a frosty one.

According to Met Éireann, the cold spell is set to continue, with today being particularly freezing, with temperatures expected to drop to between zero and -4 degrees tonight.

Yikes, wrap up if you are heading out!

Met Éireann are warning motorists to take extra caution on the roads tonight, with very bad and dangerous driving conditions to be expected due to low temperatures and icy fog.

In Ulster it might, in fact, snow later on, and there are still two weather warning in place this morning, a status orange snow-ice warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, which remains in place until 12am today; and a status yellow snow-ice warning for Longford, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway and Roscommon, in place until the same time.

So stay safe, and drive carefully if you are going anywhere by car this weekend, guys. Better half an hour late than not arriving at all!
