The outcome of Josh Tucker’s trial on Coronation Street has been confirmed.

Recent episodes have seen David Platt appear in court as he gave evidence against his rapist. Josh has been standing trial in relation to two other attacks.

And Jack P. Shepherd – who plays David – has revealed the outcome of the trial, as he weighs in on his character’s thoughts when the verdict is delivered.

“When he gets the news that Josh has got 15 years, he’s numb to it really,” he told Digital Spy. “It doesn’t really mean anything to David because he can’t share the news with Shona. She’s his priority, so he brushes it off for now.

“All he can focus on is Shona and when she wakes up.”

It comes as it was revealed Shona will be waking up from her coma soon – but she won’t remember David, or the rest of her family.

According to Metro, scenes set to air will show David playing recordings of Max and Lily as he sits by Shona’s bedside. And when her eyes flicker, he gets excited – especially after the consultant confirms Shona is starting to come out of her coma.

Shona opens her eyes again, but the reality becomes clear: she doesn’t recognise David.

Later on, Shona regains consciousness and – as she tries to speak – it seems the she still can’t recognise David. The consultant tells David that Shona has some very serious memory issues, and that it could take up to a year before things improve.
