The Cabinet is also set to endorse the Finance Bill, which will formalise the budget measures pending acceptance by the Oireachtas.
A key focus of today’s meeting will be to confirm that all lump sum social welfare payments will be distributed before Christmas.
The first double social welfare payment is scheduled for around Halloween, with a second payment planned for the first week of December, according to reports.
In addition, the first double child benefit payment is set to be made on November 5th, followed by a second payment on December 3rd.
Throughout the first three weeks of November, recipients can also expect lump sum payments for the fuel allowance, disability allowance, carer’s support grant, and living alone allowance.
As well as these social welfare payments, the electricity credits announced in Budget 2025 will begin disbursement starting November 1st.
The first payment of €125 will arrive in customer accounts at the beginning of the month, with a second payment scheduled for January 1st.
Today, the Cabinet will also approve the Finance Bill, which is slated for publication on Thursday.
The Finance Bill is crucial because it authorises the budget measures that were announced.
Although the budget details have been announced, they will not receive formal approval until the bill is passed.
