“Keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth”

Will Smith has apologised to The Academy after he slapped Chris Rock in the face.

The actor stormed on stage after Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith.

The comedian said Smith’s wife looked like GI Jane because of her shaved head.

“Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2,” he quipped.

The actress rolled her eyes at the joke, but her husband was furious over it.

It is understood Jada has alopecia which is why she often shaves her head.

Smith was highly offended by the joke about his wife and took to the stage during Rock’s appearance.

After he hit Rock, Smith returned to his seat and yelled: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth” at the presenter.

Rock tried to laugh off the incident and said, “Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke.”

He was presenting the Best Documentary Feature award during the outburst.

Smith addressed the uncomfortable moment during his acceptance speech.

He won Best Actor for his performance in King Richard.

He said, “I want to apologise to the Academy, I want to apologise to all my fellow nominees.

“I am a fierce defender of my family,” the actor added.

He also said that love makes you do crazy things.

“Art imitates life, I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams, but love will make you do crazy things.”

The Academy stressed that it does not condone violence.
