The Cheerios Childline Breakfast Week is back from October 5th –11th, and we’re asking as many of our readers as possible to come together, hold a breakfast and raise much-needed funds for Childline.
Did you know, 462,505 calls are made from Irish children each year to Childline? And that the service needs €300,000 to stay open and answering those calls this year.
To celebrate the launch, HerFamily.ie are hosting our very own Cheerios Childline breakfast at 9.30am on Thursday September 24th at Dublin’s The Westbury Hotel.
Along with our team and a host of well-known media faces, Cheerios Childline Breakfast Ambassador and TV presenter Anna Daly and comedienne extraordinaire Sharyn Hayden will be chatting about their experiences as mums and their connection to Childline.
And the good news, we’re giving away 30 tickets to our very loyal readers. To enter, fill out the form below.
You can get involved in the Cheerios Childline Breakfast Week in your own community, too, just follow the steps below.
Register to host your own event on behalf of Childline by logging on to childlinebreakfast.ie, calling 1850 504050 or emailing breakfast@ispcc.ie.
You’ll receive a special breakfast pack in the post with all the tools to help you get started: posters, a collection box, sponsorship cards and stickers to use in your school, office, reception or your local community centre – basically anywhere that will get you noticed. It’s super-easy.
Simply choose a theme or event idea, you could do something fun like….
- Throw a PJ Party or have a silly fancy dress event
- Play some games – fill a jar with Cheerios and guess how many are in there.. you get the drift.
If you are unable to get to a Childline Breakfast near you simply text “BREAKFAST” to 50300 to donate €2 (the price of a cup of coffee) to the is incredible charity.
All proceeds will go towards helping Childline reach its €300,000 target for 2015.
