A woman has been arrested after a living baby was found alongside the skeleton of another baby in a suitcase in her apartment.
The alarm was raised when a 19-year-old man believed to be the woman's partner made the grim discovery at an address in the German city of Hannover.
He reported it to the police, who arrested the woman (22) at her workplace on suspicion of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter.
The newborn baby girl is said to be in stable condition in hospital.
An investigation has been launched, with a forensic team due to examine the deceased baby girl's bones to ascertain a cause of death.
