Police were called to the scene at 5.10pm yesterday.

A woman has been arrested after an 18-month-old baby fell from a sixth-floor window and died.

The 23-year-old woman is now in police custody on suspicion of murder.

Officers arrived on the scene in Bradford, England yesterday evening after they were alerted to a child who had reportedly sustained life-threatening injuries.

On arrival, the child was pronounced dead after the fall.

“This is clearly an extremely traumatic incident and specifically trained officers are working to support the child’s family members and those who witnessed what took place,” said Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen.

“It is no exaggeration to say those who witnessed this incident will have been deeply traumatised by what they saw.

“A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the baby’s fall and she is currently receiving medical assessment in custody.”

Police confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident but are asking any witnesses to come forward.
