A woman in Columbia has just welcomed one of the biggest babies ever born in the country.
Diana Machacon gave birth to her first child on December 2nd. She welcomed a son, Isaac David, who weighed 14.1 pounds and was 55cm long.
Although he was born through c-section without any complications, he was brought to intensive care for monitoring. The gynaecologist at the hospital explained that because of his size they needed to monitor his blood sugar levels for episodes of hypoglycaemia.
From birth, he began using stage 3 nappies and according to
The Mirror, he requires seven feeds of breastmilk per day.
Diana and her partner had to buy a whole set of new clothes as the newborn ones they bought for Isaac did not fit him.

Commenting on her baby's weight, Diana said:
"I really did not expect him to be this big. I mean, he looked big on the ultrasound scan, but I never imagined quite so large.
I am over the moon and Isaac is so beautiful, but most of all I am happy because he is healthy."
