A Limerick woman went into labour while staying at a Waterford City hotel and subsequently gave birth to the baby in her hotel room.
Sarah Cunneen was staying at Dooley's Hotel in Waterford when she went into labour with her fourth child. She was staying in the hotel with her husband and their three children.
She was due to go to University Hospital Waterford for the delivery but the baby boy came early. According to
RTÉ, two members of staff from the hotel helped the woman as they waited for emergency services to arrive.
They came within 15 minutes to assist and the baby was born in the bathroom of the hotel.
Sarah and her new baby were brought to University Hospital Waterford where they are now safe and well.
It's the first time a baby has ever been born at the hotel.
