Women share scary stories about getting taxis home alone

It’s happened to many of us.

Our friends live on the opposite side of the city and we have to grab a taxi by ourselves. We want to leave the bar early to go home to the kids so we hop in a taxi alone.

Sometimes it’s our only way to get home, but we still don’t like it, and some nights, we just don’t feel safe.

A thread of Reddit has prompted discussion around this as a woman took to the site to say she got reported by her Uber driver when she wouldn’t give him her phone number.

Granted that the thread stems from the US, it still sends an important message about women feeling unsafe in taxis.

The woman wrote:

My Uber driver reported me when I didn’t give him my phone number from r/TwoXChromosomes
