Wrap up because it looks like temperatures are set to plummet once again

Just great.

Delightful…

Just when you thought all “Beast from the East” drama was truly well and gone, it looks like another cold spell is set to land over Ireland.

A spokesperson for Met Eireann said that the rest of the week brings showers and the risk of wintery falls on high ground. The highest temperatures will be between six and 9 degrees, with tonight being particularly “cold and frosty” and the risk of temperatures dropping to minus two degrees in places.

The spokesperson said: “A sharp frost will affect mainly the east and north with lowest temperatures falling to around minus one or minus two degrees and from zero to two degrees elsewhere. Later cloud will increase from the southwest with showery rain pushing into southwestern and western areas turning to sleet on higher ground.”

The whole Easter weekend has been described as “unsettled” with varying winds and showers throughout both Saturday and Sunday. The spokesperson revealed: “Easterly winds will continue and bring some showers to eastern and northeastern areas on Saturday and easterly winds may increase fresh on Sunday with some showery rain affecting the south and east.

So if you have any plans for the weekend, it looks like a pair of wellies and a brolly should be a high priority… fantastic.
