These X Factor contestants are related to musical icon John Lennon

Talent really runs in the family.

The X Factor's family trio The Cutkelvins reportedly are related to a musical icon. The talented siblings wowed the judges and viewers alike as they performed Pink's What About Us? on the live shows this week, sailing through to the next week of the shows. But it's recently emerged that the group are actually related to the Beatles legend John Lennon, via their gran. According to The Sun, the live show finalists' grandmother, Barbra Lennon, was a second cousin of the musical icon. An X Factor source told the publication:

“Obviously the show has produced some major stars over the years, but it would be fair to say John Lennon is in a different league. “The Cutkelvins have had musical success in the past thanks to Shereen’s career with girlband Neon Jungle but have always kept their family link to Lennon quiet. “Sadly, they’re  too young to have met him but it’s a nice thing to be able to  say you’re a descendent of one of The Beatles. Their gran Barbra was John’s second cousin.”

Simon Cowell is hoped to be returning to the live episodes of the programme after missing back-to-back nights on opening weekend. The music mogul was rushed to hospital last Friday after he was found unconscious at the bottom of his stairs in the early hours of the morning. Image via Getty.
