You’ll never guess who’s arrived in a sleepy Co. Down Village

Katie Mythen-Lynch

He’s more commonly spotted moving from one luxury home to another with his jet-setting wife and six children, but Brad Pitt is holed up in the village of Greyabbey on Strangford Lough braving the weather with the rest of us this weekend.

The Hollywood megastar and his crew are in town to begin production on The Lost City of .Z, a movie based on the legendary British explorer Percy Fawcett’s doomed venture into the Amazon jungle in search of a fabled civilization.

Locals say the crew, including caterers, security and wardrobe travelling in a cavalcade of trucks, arrived under cover of darkness and set up camp on some farmland.

It is not known whether Pitt’s wife, Angelina Jolie, and children Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, ten, Shiloh, nine and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, joined him in Ireland.

The film is due to be released next year, with a roster of A-list stars making appearances, including Robert Pattinson, Charlie Hunnam and Sienna Miller.

A resident in the area told the Irish Mirror:

“…the locals have been walking over the coast for a nosey. Some of it’s National Trust land and it’s all open to the public so they couldn’t say very much.

“People were doing a bit of star spotting but the weather put paid to that and everyone cleared off.”
