The Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Tindall, has suffered a miscarriage.
A royal spokesperson made the sad announcement earlier today.
Zara and her husband, former England rugby player, Mike Tindall announced in November that they were expecting their second child.
It would have been a little brother or sister for their daughter Mia, who is almost three years old.
It is believed the baby was expected to arrive in the Spring.
A spokesperson for the couple said today in a statement:
“Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy.”
The baby would have been a second cousin to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The couples Twitter accounts have been inundated with messages of condolences since the news was announced earlier today.
