A young boy makes a video about his parents’ divorce to educate others

Sive O'Brien

A nine-year-old boy from Indonesia has made a video to show people that coming from a ‘broken home’ doesn’t mean he is unhappy.

Using words and illustrations of stick figures, Azka Corbuzier (with a little help from his mum and dad) tells the story of his parents’ marriage and divorce. Despite its sad sounding title and music, ‘Story of a Broken Home Kid’ is actually a positive a tale of acceptance and the true meaning of family.

Azka explains in the video that his parents live near each other and don’t fight anymore. Expressing his love for his mum and dad, he writes, “It’s not a broken home when you still have the same love from your parents.”

The video seems to have resonated with thousands of viewers, and prompted other children to tell their own stories.
