If you have ever been in possession of a five-year-old, this will resonate with you.

I read somewhere that five-year-olds asks an average of like five million questions a day (maybe not exactly five million, but you get my drift), and having a boy who is currently five himself, I am all sorts of willing to believe this.

And it seems I am not alone in thinking five-years-olds are full-on.

Former The OC star, Rachel Bilson, who is co-parenting her very own five-year-old with her ex Hayden Christensen, recently chatted to US Weekly about the joys of parenting little Briar – and just how loud her little girl can be.

“Their voices are just very loud and present,” the Bilson confessed.

“She’s really good, though. I’m really lucky [but] there’s that common line of, ‘Well Mommy, if you give me options, I’m going to give you options.’”

“She’s understanding and rebelling, like, ‘I don’t have to do this,’” Rachel continued, explaining that her wee girl is 5 going on 16. Or even “45 sometimes.”

Mini BFF

The proud mum-of-one admits that while she can certainly drive her up the wall at times, her daughter is pretty much also her tiny bestie – even though the pair don’t share a taste in movies, with Bilson admitting Briar took some convincing when it came to watching Disney favourites like Frozen and Tangled.

“I’m the one that wants to watch it,” she admitted. “I have tried for so long and she’s like, ‘I don’t want to watch anything with bad guys.’ I’m like, ‘Come on. I need to sing the song.’”

It seems little Brian is more into dinosaurs than princesses at the moment, and currently has a 6-foot-tall stuffed dinosaur at the top of her wish list for Christmas.

“How am I going to get that down the chimney?” Rachel wondered in the US Weekly interview.
